CD-Traveller

CD-Traveller is an e-mailed newsletter as well as an online information resource.

Launched in autumn 2008, the purpose was to respond to some of the issues that were raised during research. Potential readers said there seemed to be a shortage of destination and attraction information that enabled people to make their own minds up about where they wanted to go. They didn’t want another e-letter from a booking agency but news/advice that didn’t trumpet their own wares.

Secondly, they sought comment about related holiday items such as the cheapest way to get from say, NY’s JFK into the city, people’s experiences and whether pets were allowed or suggestions as to where reasonably fit 70 year olds might go to in Florida.

From the research we focused on news about destinations, comments/opinion pieces (called “Rumbles”) and some news stories eg the recent interruption caused by the Icelandic volcano, tourism announcements and anniversary events.

To maintain independence, no tour operator advertising is accepted but advertising from tourist authorities, airports, destinations, attractions and suppliers to travelling consumers is permissible.

Currently, CD-Traveller has over 200,000 unique visitors and more than 1 million pages read per month.

A readership profile and circulation details are available for prospective advertisers and sponsors
